Chapter 1
I was intersex, and Damian Sterling had kept me as his kept lover for three years.
The day I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant, I overheard his twin brother say:
“Brother, I impersonated you and played with your kept lover for so long. Won’t he run away in anger when he finds out?”
Damian answered carelessly, “Why would I worry? He can’t bear to leave me.
“Besides, this isn’t the first time we’ve switched places.
“But don’t go and get him pregnant. It’s disgusting.”
A floating commentary feed appeared before my eyes:
【I’m dying. The male lead’s rival got pregnant and is still smiling like an idiot. He has no idea Damian has never touched him. It was Damian’s twin brother who got him pregnant.】
【Damian only loves his unattainable ideal, the person he has spoiled since childhood. Even if the male lead is carrying his child, he’ll make him leave with the baby.】
I didn’t cry or make a scene. I continued playing the part of Damian’s kept lover for the fake Damian.
In secret, I scheduled an abortion procedure and booked an international flight.
The day they caught me at the clinic, Damian went mad. He grabbed his brother by the throat.
“Who gave you permission to touch him?”
That day, after learning I was unexpectedly pregnant, I braved the pouring rain and went to the Private Members’ Club Damian frequented.
By the time I arrived, I was soaked from head to toe.
Just as I was about to push open the clubroom door, I heard Damian’s cold voice from inside.
“Had enough? When are you switching back?”
His twin brother, Lucian Sterling, replied, “No. I’m not done yet.”
He chuckled. “An intersex lover. How much fun is that?”
Damian frowned. “You didn’t touch him, did you? You know the rules between us.”
Lucian paused almost imperceptibly. Then the corners of his mouth slowly curled upward.
“Why worry? I didn’t.”
He picked up his glass. “Though even if I had, you wouldn’t really mind, would you?”
Damian hesitated. His expression turned slightly unnatural.
“Of course I would. It’s disgusting.”
A chorus of jeers rose from the private room.
“Second Young Master Sterling, you’d even play with the man your brother kept?”
“Don’t blame him. Look at Julian Carter’s face. Who wouldn’t want to play with him?”
“And he’s intersex. His skin is softer than a woman’s, and both sides are usable. He must be incredible in bed.”
“It’s only because the elder Sterling heir isn’t interested in men that he never touched him.”
The man sitting beside Damian snorted.
“Why does Julian sound like a public restroom? Anyone can use him whenever they want.”
The room erupted in laughter.
I knew that man.
Sebastian Whitmore—the Golden Heir of the Capital Elite, Damian’s childhood sweetheart, and the person Damian had cherished since they were children.
Chapter 2
Someone asked, “Whose idea was it to take the prank this far?”
Sebastian arched an eyebrow. “Who else? They were too stupid to think of it themselves.
“Julian Carter would never dream that Damian had an identical twin brother.
“You’d better thank me. Without me, you wouldn’t have gotten to have this much fun.”
Damian smiled indulgently. “Yes, yes. You’re the cleverest of us all.”
Someone asked, “I heard the elder Sterling heir is holding a wedding reception with Julian seven days from now. Is that true?”
Damian smiled.
“Of course not. He’s been at my side for so long that he started wanting legitimacy through marriage. I just lied to him so I could keep the joke going.”
Sebastian suddenly sat up straight, a gleam of mischief flashing in his eyes.
“When you get married seven days from now, tell him that you’ve been taking turns playing with him all year. I want to see his reaction in person.
“Wouldn’t it be fun to push him into the abyss at the exact moment he’s closest to happiness?”
Damian gave a helpless laugh. “How old are you? You’re still this childish.”
Sebastian pouted. “Maybe I am, but haven’t you always given me whatever I wanted?
“Still, be careful. His body may be interesting, but don’t accidentally get him pregnant.”
“I’ve heard people from the slums can be troublesome.”
Damian’s brows drew together.
“Don’t joke about that. We’ve never touched him.”
Sebastian tilted his head. “But what if he really did get pregnant by accident? What would you do?”
Damian laughed indifferently.
“Then we’d make him leave. Right, Lucian?”
Lucian had been staring blankly into the distance. When he realized Damian was calling him, he answered belatedly.
“Yeah.”
The commentary feed flashed again:
【I’m dying. Lucian claims he never played with him, but he secretly slept with him until he was used up.】
【The male lead’s rival got pregnant and is still smiling like an idiot. He has no idea Damian has never touched him. It was Damian’s twin brother who got him pregnant.】
【Damian only loves Sebastian. Even if the male lead is carrying his child, he’ll make both him and the baby disappear.】
【I love this. Damian stays faithful to Sebastian, while Lucian only uses the male lead as practice. Now this is the adored-by-everyone romance trope I came to read!】
I looked down at the Pregnancy Test Results in my hand. The result clearly showed that I was pregnant.
When I had run through the rain to get there, I had planned to tell Damian the news immediately.
I really was pregnant.
But now, it seemed there was no need.
That very afternoon, I scheduled an abortion procedure and bought an international airline ticket for seven days later.
The date fell on the day of the wedding.
I could still collect my living expenses from my wealthy patron over the next few days, and maybe make one last withdrawal from him.
Chapter 3
Since they wanted to reveal the truth to me at the wedding and make me a laughingstock, why shouldn’t I flee the wedding first and turn their carefully written script into a complete joke?
Besides, after all these years as a full-time kept lover, I had saved quite a bit of money.
Especially lately. My savings had been growing twice as fast.
I’d wondered why Damian kept forgetting that he’d already transferred money to me, only to send it again and again.
Now I knew the answer. Damian had transferred money into my account once, and his younger brother, Lucian, had transferred it again.
I gently touched my little nest egg.
I had gotten involved with Damian when I was in college.
Sebastian Whitmore had been my roommate.
He loved playing cruel prank schemes that destroyed people’s futures.
Back in high school, he had asked one of his trust-fund-heir friends to pursue an ordinary boy.
Every day, the boy was showered with roses and luxury gifts.
He had been straight, but under the relentless assault of sweet words, he was gradually drawn into the relationship.
Right before the college entrance exams, Sebastian told his friend to break up with him.
Devastated by the breakup, the boy—who had always been a good student—performed terribly on the exams.
As soon as the exams ended, he jumped from a building and was left in a vegetative state.
Sebastian, meanwhile, went off to college and became my roommate.
He noticed me, a campus heartthrob working three jobs just to survive.
I worked three jobs a day because I had a father with a gambling problem, a mother who had died young, and a sick grandmother. I was the beautiful boy from a broken family who had no one else to rely on.
This time, I became Sebastian’s newest game.
Damian was the male lead he had carefully chosen for me.
He was a math prodigy at Westbridge University, the kind of campus heartthrob whose random photograph could rack up hundreds of millions of views online.
He was also the eldest son of the Sterling Family, with a future that seemed limitless.
Sebastian asked Damian to pursue me and make me his boyfriend.
According to Sebastian’s script, Damian would use money to spoil me.
Once I grew accustomed to that life, he would dump me and leave me to collapse under the enormous emotional and financial drop.
Damian really did treat me well.
He gave me one luxury gift after another. He pitied my background, forbade me from working, and came up with a different surprise for me every day.
But I was a hoarder.
However much money Damian gave me, I saved.
